Because "figuring it out" isn’t a real plan.
I’m 24 now. Not old, not young—just in that weird zone where you suddenly realize...
“Oh. This is real life.”
Rent. Rejection. Self-worth. Confusion. Deadlines. Family pressure. Silent breakdowns during coffee runs.
If you’re a teenager or early 20s, this list isn’t me preaching — it’s me looking back, shaking my younger self by the shoulders and saying:
“READ THIS. PLEASE.”
Let’s get into it.
1. No one really has it figured out.
Not at 18. Not at 24. Not even at 40. The secret? Most people are just winging it.
2. Being liked isn’t the goal.
You can be the nicest peach and someone will still hate peaches. Be real, not universally liked.
3. If they wanted to, they would.
Whether it’s texts, calls, love, or effort — people make time for what they care about.
4. Start that thing. Now.
Podcast, YouTube, business, fitness, whatever. Perfection is a lie — consistency wins.
5. Confidence is built, not found.
You don’t “get” confident. You do the scary thing → survive → repeat → grow.
6. Stop shrinking to make others comfortable.
Your light isn't “too much.” Their insecurity isn’t your responsibility.
7. The people you lose aren’t always a loss.
Some exits are protection, not punishment.
8. Mental health is health.
Burnout is not a badge of honor. Neither is suppressing everything just to “function.”
9. You’ll never regret being kind.
But you will regret not speaking up for yourself. Learn both.
10. Time alone is sacred.
Solitude isn’t loneliness. It’s clarity. Healing. Power.
11. Nobody knows what they’re doing with their 20s.
The messy career switches. The heartbreaks. The self-reinventions. It's all part of it.
12. Travel while you're broke.
It’s not about luxury — it’s about stories, humility, perspective.
13. You teach people how to treat you.
Silence, tolerance, and "it's okay" when it's not — that's training. Change it.
14. Credit cards are not free money.
Pay attention to your money. No one’s coming to save you from debt.
15. Your energy is your loudest language.
You walk into a room and shift it — for better or worse.
16. It’s okay to outgrow people.
You’re not “fake” for evolving. You’re just not stagnant.
17. Failure is not the opposite of success.
It’s the staircase to it.
18. Social media isn’t real.
You're seeing filtered lives through 0.1-second clips. Don’t compare your full movie to someone else’s trailer.
19. Take care of your body — gently.
It’s not about the aesthetic. It’s your vessel. And it remembers how you treat it.
20. Being multi-passionate is not a flaw.
You don’t have to pick one lane forever. Explore. Combine. Reinvent.
21. Not every emotion deserves a reaction.
Feel it? Yes. Act on it immediately? Maybe not.
22. You don’t owe everyone access to you.
Boundaries are a form of self-respect. Build the fence. Choose who enters.
23. Take the photo. Say the “I love you.” Record the voice note.
Your future self will thank you.
24. You are allowed to rewrite your story at any point.
There is no “too late.” You’re not stuck. You’re just starting.
Final Thought:
If I could go back and hand this to my teenage self, I’d say:
"None of this makes you immune to pain — but it might make you softer, smarter, and stronger through it."
Save it. Share it. Live it.
